2023 Year in Review

Celebrating God’s Faithfulness

In the Old Testament, God often called his people to set aside seasons of celebration. They celebrated by observing special festivals like the Feast of the Harvest and the Feast of the Ingathering (Exodus 23:16), the Passover (Deuteronomy 16:1), and the Feast of Booths (Deuteronomy 16:13).

They often celebrated with eating good food, shouting joyfully, and even singing into the night.

While we don’t observe these special feasts or festivals anymore, that doesn’t mean that God no longer values celebration. On the contrary, Paul says in Philippians 4:4, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”

We have so many reasons to celebrate the goodness of the Lord, starting with his salvation and grace! But He is so good that he gives us even more gifts, like reclaiming, rebuilding, and restoring men to productive, Christlike service in society; giving volunteers a place to contribute and belong; growing a team of passionate people who love and honor Him.

This year, we want to take the time to count our many blessings and celebrate what God has done.

Celebrating the Next Chapter

One area we celebrated this year with our dinner was education and the doors it unlocks for men in recovery. We’re thankful for the confidence, knowledge, wisdom, hope, and opportunities that education unlocks. What a gift to hear these residents’ stories about how their lives changed with the gift of education!

Celebrating The Saving Way Expansion

This year we opened a new The Saving Way thrift store in Meridianville. This increased our number of thrift stores to five. The community’s support of The Saving Way stores through donations as well as shopping has been essential to the growth of His Way.
