Kevin and Cindy Lindquist volunteer at His Way Atlanta, hosting Christmas parties, providing meals to residents, and participating in recovery meetings. The couple, which attends Gwinnett Church of Christ, is also actively engaged with Navigate Recovery, an addiction recovery support center in nearby Lawrenceville, Ga., and is helping build a connecting between Navigate Recovery and His Way Atlanta.
For example, this is the third year that His Way Atlanta has participated in the annual Navigate Recovery Walk/Run 5K.
The Lindquists said the guidance and support that Navigate Recovery provided their family was invaluable, which is one reason they are helping bring these two organizations together. The Lindquists’ son, Joel, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer, work with another His Way partner, Across the Bridge, which also focuses on faith-based recovery.
His Way Atlanta Case Manager Tiffany Sims said the collaboration between His Way and organizations like Navigate Recovery and Across the Bridge brings additional resources, referrals, and support to those in recovery, offering a well-rounded approach to helping people rebuild their lives. Together, these organizations are creating a stronger, more connected recovery community in central Georgia.
“By collaborating with organizations that have similar missions and offer recovery resources,” Sims said, “we are helping people receive the care and support they need as they work through substance abuse and rebuild their lives.”
